Ah, you’re here. Welcome!

I had been a primary classroom teacher for a good 12 years when chronic acute anxiety knocked on my door. I wasn’t expecting company. The place was a mess. Besides, I was a new mama. I craved uninterrupted time with my booba. I shuttered when I saw that anxiety had come with a suitcase and was keenly eyeing my couch.

Today, I still work with kids. Adults and families too.

Only difference now is that my focus is on those of us whose quality of life is hindered by anxiety.

My work is not about promises of a cure. Rather my focus is on good management. Living (very) well with anxiety is about knowing how to minimize, listen to, prevent and prepare for it. Learning when to push through and when to surrender. Knowing how to care for ourselves as we recover from an episode of anxiety.

When we face anxiety, there is so much opportunity for meaningful change in our lives.

In fact, my work is based on practicing slowness, coziness and creativity (especially writing for me). I entirely credit anxiety for bringing these riches (back) into my life. And by extension, into the lives of the adults and children who I work with.

What is your anxiety asking for? What does it need? I wonder what unique riches await you.

In Solidarity,

nina
